Young Speakers Compete at the County Level!!

Young speakers compete in county/district level:


The 2017 Murray County Level Speech Contest, held on Wednesday, March 22nd, was hosted by Woodlawn Elementary School and sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization.


Prior to this contest, the students had already won first or second place in their school-level contests. They shared their presentations on this year’s topic, "What does it take to be a hero?" . 


Students participants were:


Aiden Hatamleh and Avery Jones (Chatsworth Elementary)

Kristin Cross and Rachel Reyes (Spring Place Elementary)

Tad Stone and Ben Clark (Coker Elementary)

Erick Chavarria and Rylen Huber (Woodlawn Elementary)

Kelsey Sinaloa and Andrea Page (Northwest Elementary)

Haley Pacheco and Cole Talley (Eton Elementary)


Judges were:


Rev. Tamlyn Collins (Pastor at Chatsworth First United Methodist Church)

Tara Noe (Curriculum & Instructional Coach at North Murray High School)

Emily Thomas (Real Estate Clerk for the Clerk of Superior Court Office)


Winners were:


1st Place - Aiden Hatamley of Chatsworth Elementary - won a $50 cash award and a trophy

2nd Place - Tad Stone of Coker Elementary - won a trophy

3rd Place - Erick Chavarria of Woodlawn Elementary - won a trophy
